UA Hope-Texarkana Workforce Center
Overview
The Workforce Center at the UAHT Texarkana campus integrates industry, general education and the Collegiate Academy programs into a centralized building, providing opportunities for new and expanded curriculum. Accommodating the growing demand and economic development for the college and the city, the program of the new 13,000 square foot building includes a large welding lab and classroom, general education classrooms, a small administrative suite, and a large multi-purpose space that can be partitioned off for smaller instructional functions.
Organized within a simple modern, panel-clad, pre-engineered metal building, the spaces branch off of an intersecting corridor, with the entry located at the meeting point. The Welding Lab and high-decibel spaces are strategically placed towards the back side of the structure to help control sound and fumes, while also providing easy access for material pick up and drop off. The large multi-purpose space is located towards the front of the building and is utilized for conference and meeting functions as well as smaller break-out classrooms.
