Johnson Dermatology Clinic

Overview

The new Johnson Dermatology Clinic is being designed under USGBC’s LEED NC V3 rating system. MAHG, along with its consultants, and Johnson Real Estate are pursuing Certification for this project. The latest in energy-saving and environmental design considerations are being used:

• Geo-Thermal Heating & Cooling
• Low-VOC paints, adhesives and building materials
• Regionally Extracted, Processed and Manufactured Materials
• Rain-water Collection system for flushing toilets

With the owners enjoying a growing practice and the desire to create a building with clinic, office and lease space for professionals, the resulting project is a culmination of what the architects termed the “Modern Barn”. The 11,500 s.f structure is being developed along a heavily traveled commercial corridor and at the entry to an upscale residential development. The material choices and building scale and massing are influenced by the design standards for the subdivision.

The project has been awarded a LEED Silver certification and is Energy Star rated.
