UAFS Baldor Technology Center

When the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith was granted the opportunity to offer a 3 year baccalaureate degree in Manufacturing Technology they selected MAHG Architecture to design a facility to house the new degree program. The 100,000 square foot building houses a series of labs, classrooms, faculty offices, and a conference center.

Clean Laboratories in the building include a CIM and Robotics Lab, Automated Manufacturing Lab, CNC/Smart Cam Lab, Computer Troubleshooting Lab and seven Electronics Laboratories. Welding and Transportation Labs are located at the rear of the facility around an enclosed courtyard.

Classrooms in the building are designed to be converted to computer aided instruction labs which will facilitate a transition to an open entry / open exit system of self-paced learning.
