Baldor Technology Center
Overview
When the university was given the opportunity to develop a manufacturing degree program, MAHG collaborated closely with the university to create a facility of a new type: a workforce development center. Bringing innovation and futuristic careers, this new facility has grown over the past years. In addition to offering unique classes for its students, the Center is known for offering college-level classes to high school students in the local area. This facility is not merely about the growth of a college; it caters to the surrounding smaller cities, building relationships between city and city, student to college.
The new degree program in manufacturing technology was being developed alongside the building’s own development and construction. The 100,000 s.f. facility houses classrooms, offices, a conference center, and a series of specialty labs in fields of electronics, metallurgy, robotics, and more; classrooms were designed to be converted to computer aided instruction labs, which will facilitate the transition to an open entry/open exit system of self-paced learning.
