Greenwood Police Department

Overview

The new Police Department headquarters is planned to be a 5,000 to 6,000 s.f. addition to the existing 5,000 s.f. Old Post Office building near downtown Greenwood. The project is a result of a quarter-cent sales tax that was voted on and approved by the citizens of Greenwood in December of 2013.

The new building includes new administration offices with conference/interview areas, dispatch, radio/server and records storage, a training room with kitchenette, patrol and detective offices, firearm and equipment storage, evidence processing, lab and storage, video interview rooms, intake area, observation and temporary holding cells.

In addition to working on the building design, MAHG was actively involved in the tax campaign for the city. A space needs assessment was completed to not only show the required need but to develop several options for size, location and funding.

A complete project time line has not been developed with the owner at this time but we anticipate the project will be completed by Fall 2015.
