About Our Firm

Our Commitment

We believe that every client and every project deserves our complete commitment and the highest quality professional service, regardless of budget, scope, or purpose.

We also believe that when we are engaged by a client, we should use that client’s resources very wisely, whether it be time or money. It will be our role to challenge or offer suggestions regarding certain beliefs or conditions and to offer alternative solutions to the unique opportunities of this project. We commit to do that, very respectfully, and with a sound base of knowledge and understanding of the issues at hand.
We offer the following points for you to consider about our team when you make your selection of an architect:

Project Leadership

From our years of experience, we know that our clients today have needs that are always changing: they are more informed, have greater demands on budget and schedule, and have higher expectations for their facilities.

We recognize our responsibility to manage your project appropriately so that schedules, budgets, and the program are all successfully fulfilled. We base our abilities to accomplish these goals on technical skills, communication, organization, design skills, and experience in the design and construction industry.

However, we want to take you further than just meeting the goal of giving you a building that is on time and within the budget. It is our vision to “move” you to a level of achievement with this facility that you may not have thought possible.

We have the capabilities and the experience to look at the big picture. We help you gain value for every dollar spent, and we can help you make this a long-lasting and long-serving facility.

Team Members Who Listen and Care

Everyone involved in the design process has his or her own goals and initiatives for the project. As a result, each individual wants to be heard during the design process with regard to specific requirements that they may have to help serve your patrons best.
We do a thorough job of problem-solving through the programming process. This process involves a great deal of dialogue between the team members and our clients, as well as good use of professional judgment and capabilities.

Technical Skills

MAHG Architecture strives to acquire knowledge at all professional levels of new technologies and to seek practical applications for their use. These technologies include new materials, mechanical and structural systems, lighting products and construction methods.
In addition, we consistently seek out and educate ourselves on emerging issues to our industry and our clients, such as Building Information Modeling, ADA, sustainable design, model building codes and energy conservation.

Experienced & Innovative

MAHG Architecture Inc, one of the oldest firms in Arkansas, is in its 78th year.

Most of our projects are located in Arkansas, although we have clients located throughout the country. The firm has won multiple awards for its projects in past years.

Through a great design philosophy we have become the area’s leader in sustainable design.

We apply our knowledge gained from LEED projects on every project we design and take pride in the certification achievements of our projects.

We take pride in the quality of service we have provided to educational institutions.

In fact, our firm’s first project was the design of Vol Walker Hall at the University of Arkansas. Today, 78 years later, we continue to provide professional services for a wide variety of facilities for the public.

The management philosophy and ability of the firm has resulted in many repeat clients who come to us with their projects again and again.

They include The City of Fort Smith, Sparks Regional Medical Center, Fort Smith Public Schools, Arkansas Tech University, John Brown University, University of Arkansas- Fort Smith, and the University of Arkansas’ Fayetteville campus where we have completed over 100 projects.

A strength of the firm is our ability to administrate major construction projects.

An example is the $30 million Bud Walton Arena at the University of Arkansas. MAHG was selected to handle the construction administration duties for the project which was designed by Rosser-Fabrap International of Atlanta. It was built on time and at a cost below the University’s budget.

Our experience shows up in many ways.

A principal member of the firm directs every project. We know how to schedule work and how to finish on time. We have an excellent record of cost control. Cost estimates are accurate and change orders are minimal. Inspection of construction work is timely and performed by personnel with experience. You can’t beat experience - and we have it!
